Sticker sensor could replace frequent finger pricks for hospital patients

NCT ID NCT04569240

Summary

This study tested whether a wearable, continuous glucose monitor (a small sensor worn on the skin) is as accurate as standard blood tests for patients recovering from heart surgery. Researchers compared the sensor's readings to traditional finger-prick and blood draw results in 40 patients. The goal was to see if this technology could reduce the need for frequent, painful blood tests in the hospital.
