Scientists probe hormone link between diabetes and liver disease

NCT ID NCT07246421

Summary

This study aims to understand how the body's response to a hormone called glucagon might contribute to fatty liver disease and increased heart disease risk in people with type 2 diabetes. Researchers will compare 24 participants with diabetes, some with and some without fatty liver disease, by measuring their bodies' reactions to glucagon infusions. The goal is to gather knowledge about the disease process, not to test a new treatment.
