Could a diabetes drug help leg artery disease? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07340112

First seen Jan 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This observational study will measure the level of a protein called GLP1 receptor on blood cells from 50 adults with peripheral artery disease (PAD). The goal is to see if this receptor is linked to disease severity and inflammation, which could mean that existing GLP1 agonist drugs (used for diabetes) might one day help treat PAD. Participants give one extra blood sample during a routine visit; no new treatments are tested.
