Scientists probe how popular Weight-Loss drugs change your fat
NCT ID NCT06278285
Summary
This study aims to understand how GLP-1 agonist drugs (like Ozempic or Wegovy) affect body fat in people with severe obesity who are having weight-loss surgery. Researchers will compare fat tissue samples from 40 patients who have been taking a GLP-1 drug for at least 3 months to those from patients who have never taken one. The main goal is to see if the drug changes levels of a hormone called oxytocin in the fat tissue.
