Gentler brain cancer treatment tested for frail elderly
NCT ID NCT04765514
Summary
This study is testing whether chemotherapy alone works as well as the standard combination of chemotherapy plus radiation for elderly and frail patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Researchers want to see if skipping radiation reduces side effects while maintaining similar survival benefits for this vulnerable group. The trial will enroll about 107 patients aged 65+ with limited physical function to compare quality of life, side effects, and survival between the two approaches.
