Can a supplement calm chronic dizziness? new trial aims to find out

NCT ID NCT06741358

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This pilot study tests whether a supplement called Glialia can help people with persistent postural dizziness (PPPD). The trial will include 20 PPPD patients and 10 healthy controls, all of whom will take either Glialia or a placebo daily for 60 days. Researchers will measure brain inflammation markers and assess balance and quality of life to see if the supplement reduces symptoms.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Glialia supplement (palmitoylethanolamide and other ingredients)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a supplement-based treatment for persistent dizziness by reducing brain inflammation.

What could go wrong

This is a very small pilot study with only 30 people, so results may not apply to everyone. It is also testing a supplement, not a drug, so benefits may be modest.
