Brain cancer trial: could a chemo wafer replace radiation after surgery?

NCT ID NCT04222062

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to stop metastatic brain tumors from coming back after surgery. One group gets a chemotherapy wafer (GLIADEL) placed in the brain during tumor removal, while the other gets radiation within six weeks after surgery. About 100 adults with up to four brain tumors will take part. The goal is to see if the wafer works as well as radiation to prevent local recurrence.
