New eye lens offers hope for glaucoma patients to ditch glasses

NCT ID NCT07436871

Summary

This study aims to find out if a newer type of artificial lens (called an EDOF lens) is a good option for people with glaucoma who are also having cataract surgery. Currently, the safest choice is a standard monofocal lens, but it usually requires glasses for reading or computer use. The newer lens might allow for more spectacle-free vision. Researchers will compare the two lens types in 74 patients to see which provides better vision quality and patient satisfaction.
