Can common eye drops do more than lower pressure? study investigates hidden vision protection

NCT ID NCT07074782

Summary

This study aims to find out if a common type of glaucoma eye drop (prostaglandin analogues) directly protects the eye's vision cells, beyond just lowering pressure. Researchers will look back at the medical records of 1500 adults with glaucoma who have been treated for at least 3 years, comparing those who used this type of drop to those who used other pressure-lowering drops. The goal is to see if one treatment is better for long-term vision preservation in glaucoma.
