Brain tumor radiation gets a double punch: two machines, one breakthrough?

NCT ID NCT07162246

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to give radiation for large brain tumors. Instead of using one machine for all treatments, patients first get 4 daily treatments with a linear accelerator, then a 1-2 week break, and finally one precise treatment with a Gamma Knife. The goal is to better control tumors while lowering the risk of side effects like brain swelling. About 60 adults with up to 2 large brain tumors will take part.
