New drug duo tested in fight against tough stomach tumors

NCT ID NCT04258956

Summary

This study tested whether combining two drugs, avelumab and axitinib, could help control advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that had worsened after standard treatments. It involved 58 adults whose cancer had progressed despite prior therapy. The main goal was to see if the combination could keep the cancer from growing for at least three months.
