Scientists test gut Hormone's role in preventing dangerous low blood sugar
NCT ID NCT06881472
Summary
This study aims to understand how a natural gut hormone (GIP) and amino acids from protein work together to trigger glucagon release, which raises blood sugar. Researchers are testing this in 10 people with and without type 1 diabetes to see if these substances could help prevent dangerously low blood sugar episodes. The goal is to gather basic knowledge that might inform future diabetes treatments, not to test a treatment directly.
