First seen Nov 13, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people develop gum inflammation (gingivitis) faster or more severely than others when plaque builds up. Researchers will monitor 80 healthy adults aged 18-35 as they stop brushing for a period, measuring gum bleeding and bacterial changes. The goal is to understand the biological reasons behind these differences, which could lead to better prevention or treatment of gum disease.
