Pill camera vs. colonoscopy: race to find hidden bleeds

NCT ID NCT05108844

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to locate the source of gastrointestinal bleeding when the first stomach exam comes back clear. Researchers will compare two approaches: one group will get a pill-sized camera to check the small bowel next, while the other group gets a standard colonoscopy first. The goal is to see which method finds the bleeding source faster and more accurately, potentially reducing hospital stays and the number of tests needed.
