Can blocking the hunger hormone boost weight loss for semaglutide users?

NCT ID NCT07171723

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether blocking the ghrelin (hunger) receptor can further reduce appetite in people with obesity who are already taking semaglutide. About 24 adults on a stable dose of semaglutide will receive either a natural blocker (LEAP2) or a placebo during two study visits. Researchers will measure food intake, hunger feelings, and metabolism to better understand how different appetite systems interact. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better obesity treatments in the future.
