First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at how growth hormone treatment affects muscle strength and function in short prepubertal boys, both those with growth hormone deficiency and those with short stature for unknown reasons. 45 boys aged 6-11 took part, with 30 receiving growth hormone and 15 healthy boys serving as a comparison group. Researchers measured muscle strength, power, agility, and endurance before and after 6 and 12 months of treatment.
