One-Stop stroke care could save minutes and lives
NCT ID NCT07052045
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This trial tests whether doing brain scans and clot-removal procedures in the same room speeds up treatment for severe strokes. About 390 patients with suspected large-vessel blockages will be randomly assigned to either the usual two-room process or a one-room approach. The goal is to see if faster treatment leads to less disability at 90 days.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- One-Stop management (flat panel CT imaging and endovascular therapy in the same room)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this approach could cut treatment delays, helping more stroke patients recover independence and reducing long-term disability.
- What could go wrong
- This is a mid-sized trial testing a workflow change, not a new drug. The imaging method may be slightly less accurate for some stroke types, and results may not apply to all hospitals.
