Pill vs. shot: which works better for pregnancy diabetes?

NCT ID NCT01731431

Summary

This study tested whether an oral medication (glyburide) works as well as insulin injections for managing diabetes that develops during pregnancy. Researchers enrolled 914 pregnant women whose blood sugar wasn't controlled by diet alone. The trial compared whether the pill was as effective as insulin shots at preventing complications for both mother and baby.
