ER geriatric team may cut hospital stays for seniors

NCT ID NCT07558031

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether having a dedicated geriatric team in the emergency department helps older patients (65+) get care faster and avoid being admitted to the hospital. Over 1,000 patients were included. The team included nurses, doctors, and therapists who worked together from the start. The goal was to see if this approach reduces time in the ER, hospital admissions, and overall hospital stays.
