First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study aims to find out how many children in the Czech Republic have symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Researchers will survey about 1,000 children aged 8-9 and 12-13 through schools. Those with symptoms like heartburn or regurgitation may undergo further testing, including a trial of acid-reducing medication, endoscopy, or pH monitoring. The goal is to provide accurate prevalence estimates and understand the impact of GERD on children's quality of life.
