New acid reflux drug tested against standard treatment
NCT ID NCT06953986
Summary
This study aims to see if a new medication called vonaprazan works as well as or better than the standard drug esomeprazole for healing damage caused by moderate-to-severe acid reflux disease. Researchers will compare three groups of adults with confirmed reflux damage: one taking vonaprazan 10 mg, one taking vonaprazan 20 mg, and one taking esomeprazole 40 mg, all once daily for 8 weeks. The main goal is to see which treatment best heals the stomach lining and improves symptoms like heartburn.
