Flower power: can a simple scent ease chemo pain?
NCT ID NCT07292844
Summary
This study tested whether smelling geranium essential oil during chemotherapy could help reduce pain and lower blood pressure. Ninety cancer patients in Indonesia were randomly assigned to either inhale the oil for 15 minutes during treatment or receive standard care. Researchers measured pain levels and blood pressure before and after to see if the pleasant scent provided any relief from common treatment side effects.
