New study to verify antibiotic dosing for newborns

NCT ID NCT07460349

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at how well a current gentamicin dosing plan works for newborns up to 7 days old who have early-onset sepsis. Researchers will measure drug levels in the blood and check for kidney or hearing side effects. The goal is to confirm that giving the antibiotic less often still reaches safe and effective levels. Results will help create a standard dosing guide for hospitals.
