First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a polygenic risk score (a measure of many small genetic factors) to standard risk tools helps women ages 35-75 at high risk for breast cancer decide on prevention steps, such as taking medication, having risk-reducing surgery, or getting extra imaging. About 737 participants will report their intentions and follow-up for 10 years. The goal is to improve personalized prevention and reduce breast cancer cases.
