Scientists hunt for hidden genes behind rare pregnancy complication

NCT ID NCT01008501

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study aims to find genetic changes that cause recurrent hydatidiform moles, a rare pregnancy condition where abnormal tissue grows instead of a healthy baby. Researchers will analyze DNA from up to 100 women with a personal or family history of these moles, as well as some relatives. By identifying new genes linked to the condition, the team hopes to improve understanding and future diagnosis.
