Scientists hunt family genes for clues to hearing and balance problems
NCT ID NCT00023049
Summary
This study aimed to discover the specific genes that cause hearing loss or balance disorders that run in families. Researchers enrolled people with these conditions and their family members to collect DNA, perform hearing and balance tests, and review medical histories. The goal was to better understand how these genetic changes lead to problems and to help improve future diagnosis for families.
