First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study aims to understand how genetic changes contribute to autoimmune diseases in people native to Peru. Researchers will recruit 300 participants, including patients with conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, their family members, and healthy volunteers. Participants will provide blood, urine, and stool samples over two clinic visits in Peru. The goal is to identify rare gene variants that may increase disease risk, which could lead to better treatments in the future.
