Scientists hunt for genetic clues to personalize diabetes treatment

NCT ID NCT02891954

Summary

This study aims to understand if a person's genes can predict how they will respond to a common diabetes drug called canagliflozin. Researchers are giving the drug to 700 healthy Amish volunteers and measuring its effects on the body. They will then look for genetic patterns linked to these effects, which could one day help doctors choose the right medication for each patient.
