Scientists hunt for genetic clues to mysterious bladder pain condition

Summary
This study aims to discover if interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) has a genetic cause. Researchers are enrolling 1000 people, including those diagnosed with IC/BPS and their family members (both with and without symptoms). Participants provide DNA samples (blood or saliva) and medical information from home to help identify genes linked to the condition, which could lead to better future treatments.
