Could your genes make you more prone to heat stroke?
NCT ID NCT06847256
Summary
This University of Iowa study aims to understand if people who carry a cystic fibrosis gene are at higher risk for dehydration and heat-related problems. Researchers will survey 200 adults about their heat sensitivity and have 50 of them complete a supervised heat challenge in a sauna. The study observes and measures differences between gene carriers and non-carriers but does not test any treatments.
