Generic diabetes drug put to the test

NCT ID NCT07479108

Summary

This study tested whether a new generic version of the diabetes medication empagliflozin works the same way in the body as the original brand-name drug, Jardiance. Thirty-two healthy adults took both versions at different times so researchers could compare how the drugs were absorbed and processed. The goal was to see if the generic version is bioequivalent, meaning it delivers the same amount of medicine to the bloodstream as the original.
