Gene therapy trial aims to halt vision loss from inherited eye disease

NCT ID NCT06388200

Summary

This Phase 3 study is testing whether a one-time gene therapy called OCU400 can help preserve functional vision in people with retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a genetic disease that causes progressive vision loss. The therapy is injected under the retina. The study has enrolled 140 participants, some with a specific gene mutation (RHO) and others with various RP-causing mutations, to see if the treatment is safe and effective compared to a control group.
