One shot could replace monthly eye injections for vision loss
NCT ID NCT04514653
Summary
This study is testing a one-time gene therapy injection for wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), a leading cause of vision loss in older adults. The goal is to see if this single treatment can work as well as or better than the current standard of care, which requires monthly eye injections. Researchers will compare the gene therapy against the approved drug ranibizumab in about 146 participants over 52 to 80 weeks.
