Brain injection tested to silence untreatable pain
NCT ID NCT06596681
Summary
This early safety study is testing a new approach for people with severe nerve pain that doesn't respond to standard treatments. Researchers will inject a gene therapy directly into a specific brain area and combine it with a daily oral medication (clozapine). The goal is to see if this combination is safe and can reduce pain levels, improve sleep, and ease related depression and anxiety.
