First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a gene therapy called LY3884963 in 35 adults with frontotemporal dementia caused by a GRN gene mutation. The treatment is given as a single injection into the fluid around the brain and aims to raise levels of a protective protein called progranulin. The main goals are to check safety and see if the therapy can slow the disease over 5 years.
