Gene therapy trial aims to cut opioid use for diabetic pain

NCT ID NCT04087941

Summary

This study aimed to see if an experimental gene therapy called VM202 could safely help people with painful diabetic nerve damage reduce their use of opioid painkillers. It planned to enroll adults who were already taking stable, high doses of opioids for this pain. The main goal was to measure how much opioid use changed over six months compared to a placebo.
