One-Shot gene therapy could free patients from monthly eye injections

NCT ID NCT04567550

Summary

This study is testing a potential one-time gene therapy called RGX-314 for diabetic retinopathy, a leading cause of vision loss. The goal is to see if a single injection can slow or reverse the eye damage caused by diabetes, reducing the need for the frequent eye injections that are the current standard of care. The trial is enrolling about 139 adults with diabetic retinopathy, with or without swelling in the center of the retina.
