Gene test aims to stop bad drug reactions before they start

NCT ID NCT06322238

Summary

This study is testing whether a genetic test can help prevent harmful side effects from common medications. Researchers will give the test to some primary care patients before they start a new prescription to see if it helps doctors choose safer drugs or doses. The goal is to reduce problems like muscle aches, falls, fainting, and other reactions caused by how a person's genes process certain medicines.
