New Gut-Protecting treatment tested for debilitating IBS-D
NCT ID NCT06681012
Summary
This study is testing whether a product called Gelsectan can help reduce the main symptoms of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), like abdominal pain and loose stools. About 330 adults with IBS-D will take either Gelsectan or a placebo (a dummy pill) for 8 weeks to see which one works better. The goal is to see if this product, which aims to protect and restore the gut lining, provides safe and effective symptom relief.
