Study tests gels to fight diabetic gum disease
NCT ID NCT06027151
Summary
This study tested whether adding antibiotic gels to a standard dental cleaning improves gum health for people with diabetes who have periodontitis (serious gum disease). 380 patients were divided into four groups to compare cleaning alone versus cleaning plus one or two different gels. Researchers measured gum pocket depth, bleeding, and other signs of health over 15 days to see which treatment worked best.
