First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether a gel containing chlorhexidine and xanthan could help treat gum inflammation around dental implants (peri-implant mucositis). 182 adults with at least two inflamed implant sites received professional cleaning plus either the gel or a placebo. The goal was to reduce bleeding and improve gum health, with results suggesting the gel may aid healing.
