Scientists probe hidden heart risk in new moms

NCT ID NCT06547619

Summary

This study aims to understand why women who had diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) remain at higher risk for future heart problems, even after their blood sugar returns to normal. Researchers will study 40 women to see if a specific protein in blood vessels and their daily physical activity levels play a role in this persistent risk. The goal is to gather knowledge about the underlying causes, not to test a treatment.
