First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at how a history of gestational diabetes (GDM) may affect blood flow and blood vessel function in the brain after pregnancy. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure brain blood flow in 84 women—some who had GDM and some who had a healthy pregnancy. The goal is to understand if GDM causes lasting changes that could raise the risk of stroke or dementia later in life.
