Doctors look at fingernails for clues to mysterious stomach condition

NCT ID NCT07127952

ENROLLING_BY_INVITATION Knowledge-focused Sponsor: Mayo Clinic Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple, non-invasive test that looks at tiny blood vessels under the fingernails (nail fold capillaroscopy) can help doctors understand why some people develop a stomach condition called GAVE. Researchers will compare the nail test results in 75 adults with GAVE who also have an autoimmune disease to those with GAVE from other causes. The goal is to gather knowledge that might help distinguish different types of GAVE in the future.
