Scientists track rare genetic disorder for clues to its unpredictable nature
NCT ID NCT01905826
Summary
This study aims to learn more about GATA2 deficiency, a genetic disorder that can cause a wide range of health problems from immune issues to cancer. Researchers will follow 600 participants, including people with the gene mutation and their relatives, for up to 15 years to track how the disease progresses and why it affects people so differently. The goal is to gather detailed information to help improve future diagnosis and care, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
