Baby belly watch: ultrasound reveals digestion speed in newborns

NCT ID NCT02665923

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study uses ultrasound to measure how long it takes for healthy newborns and infants to digest clear liquids and milk. Researchers will scan babies' stomachs before and after feeding to see when they empty. The goal is simply to learn more about normal digestion in young children, not to test any treatment.
