First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a drug called metoclopramide helps diabetic patients empty their stomachs before surgery, reducing the risk of food or liquid entering the lungs during anesthesia. Researchers used ultrasound to measure stomach contents in 60 fasted diabetic adults undergoing elective surgery. The goal was to see if metoclopramide improves safety during general anesthesia.
