Doctors test aggressive drug combo to shrink tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT03279237
Summary
This study tested a combination of chemotherapy drugs (called FOLFIRINOX) followed by radiation and more chemotherapy before surgery for people with stomach or gastroesophageal (GE) junction cancer. The goal was to see if this intensive approach could shrink tumors more effectively to improve surgical outcomes and survival. It was a small, early-phase trial to check if patients could tolerate the treatment and to look for initial signs of effectiveness.
