This study compared two weight-loss surgeries—Single Anastomosis Sleeve Jejunal Bypass and One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass—in 40 adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Researchers measured changes in gut hormones (GLP-1, PYY, GIP) and their effect on insulin resistance and diabetes control. The goal was to see which surgery better helps manage diabetes.
