Simple tube could ease common surgery pain

NCT ID NCT07262749

Summary

This study is testing if placing a small drain tube after gynecologic keyhole surgery can reduce shoulder pain, a common and uncomfortable side effect. The pain is thought to be caused by leftover gas irritating the diaphragm. Researchers will compare pain levels and recovery in 124 women who either receive the drain or standard care without it.
